Northern, perch, crappies and bluegills all providing good action, with walleye fair to good.  All in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. All lakes in the Eagle River area are well open and providing good fishing action.  Best bet would be to first try the Eagle River Chain of 28 lakes (longest freshwater chain of lakes in the world). Walleye, crappies and smallmouth bass providing very active action; all in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). Perch, crappies and bluegills putting on a good to excellent bite, with good northern action, and walleye hitting fair to good. All in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. The annual spring perch bonanza is going on right now in the Eagle River area.  Fish shallow muddy bays with scattered weed growth.  Use a  small jig and a crappie minnow.  All day bite.  Good to excellent action. Walleye, bass, crappies and musky (where allowed -- south of Hwy. 10) hitting. All in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). 90% of the lakes still have ice, with some anglers still ice fishing on the bigger lakes, and some open water perch and walleyes being taken in back bays and on rivers.  All in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. Warmer weather means exploding walleye action, with ancillary catches of northerns, smallmouth and catfish.  All in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). Ice still on the lakes and guides still ice fishing, with continued good all day bite for panfish.  All in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. In the Eagle River, Wisconsin area there's ice still on the lakes -- with some erosion, strong currents, along with thinning and cracking here-and-there. Ice fishing still going strong, with crappies, bluegills and perch putting on a good all day bite.  All in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area.
