Anglers starting to ice fish in Eagle River, with good action for northern and panfish and a fair to good bite for walleye; all in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. Marathon & Lincoln Fishing Report: December 17, 2012

Ice iffy, but walleye and bluegills hitting; all in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). Ice is not safe in the central Wisconsin area, and no one should be out on it fishing; all in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). Eagle River Fishing Report: November 26, 2012

Good action for musky, walleye, northern and panfish. All in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. Water temps in the Eagle River area are in the mid 30s. Musky in the Eagle River area are outside of weed or break edges in 10-25 feet of water.  Use a medium size crankbait, glidebait, jerkbait, or a 13-16 inch sucker.  Regular retrieve, and do a "figure 8" as your bait nears the boat.  All day bite with short feeding windows.  Good action. Good to excellent action for panfish, with walleye and northern providing a good bite, and musky fair. Grouse hunting very good, ducks on bigger waters, and gun deer season is open.
