Northern and panfish action is good to excellent, with the walleye bite fair; all in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. Crappies, bluegills, walleye and northern all providing great action in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). Great panfish, northern and walleye bite in the central Wisconsin area. The Central Wisconsin area has been putting out good numbers of panfish this past week with crappies and bluegills topping the list. Northern and panfish action is good, with the walleye bite fair to good; all in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. Ice conditions in the Eagle River area are good, with ice thickness generally at 20+ inches.  Travel on the ice is difficult, due to heavy snow cover and some slush.  Anglers are using snowmobiles, ATV's and some trucks.  Foot travel can be OK, but only if well traveled trails are used. Walleye, crappies, bluegills, catfish and white bass all hitting; in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). Walleye, crappies and bluegills all hitting strong; in and amidst the lakes and the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin’s Marathon and Lincoln Counties (near Mosinee and Wausau). This past week has been very good for walleye action on central Wisconsin area lakes with some very nice size fish being caught. Eagle River Fishing Report: December 30, 2013

Northern bite excellent, with walleye and panfish good to excellent in the Eagle River, Wisconsin area. Ice conditions continue to improve in the Eagle River area.  We're seeing 6-10 inches of ice on most lakes, with some lakes running 12 inches +.  We prefer to be conservative in our estimates.  There is some snow cover and slush in limited areas.  Snowmobiles, ATV's and foot travel are all getting anglers out on the ice.  A FEW are starting to try motor vehicles on the ice.
